1 Mbps!
Guys, my provider upgraded my 384kbps DSL connection to 1 MBPS! I even checked my upstream with Cnet, and, sure enough, they weren't lying. Upstream, which is obviously generally slower, was 789kbps!
And the best part is it's still only $49.95/mo.! Cool or what?! |
Meh, my cable has a theoretical maximum of 10 MBits (which of course it never hits) for about the same price...
|
For that same price we are supposed to be at 1.5 MB, although as more people get on it does slow down a bit.
|
I've got 4 (100Mbit) connections directly connected to the 1000Mbit SurfNET network for free :p
|
I'm on 512k at home for £25 a month, I could pay £35 and have 1MBit, but don't currently need it. I believe they are starting a 2MBit service for £50 a month, but I believe I would need new hardware installed for that (however they do provide it for free).
At work I have a faster connection. The video conferencing system I run (accessgrid) has been known to put out 30Mbit of multicast traffic. |
I am on 768 @ home for 25?. :)
|
Damn you Cable users. :p
