Search: Returns no results.
Can anyone enlighten as to how the search.php page functions before I bother going through 1042 lines of code, line by line? I haven't touched my search.php however, my searches never return a result. They dont return an error either. They simply return the default: "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

In your Admin Control Panel.
Scroll down to Import & Maintenance in the menu and click Update Counters. Rebuild search index... do that. :) |
Don't mind if I jump in here, do you? ;)
I just been kicked out by my host because of the size of database (78mb) and amount of mysql queries. Anyway my new host said I had over 900,000 records in the search index table. Followed the instructions on the thread at VB.com, to reduce the size, but nothing happened. Got some 'bad' words to add to that file. Anyway, I thought sod it, and emptied the index. Cool, database is now 40mb! Unfortunately, I got the same prob as the gentlemen above, just get 'sorry, no matches' on any search now. Tried rebuilding the index but I ended up with just as many records again so that was a waste of time. Is it building an index from that 'word' table at the bottom? Would it be safe to empty that? It's about 8mb at the moment, with around 112,000 records. If I emptied that then rebuilt the search index would that fix things? Phoenix |
