Greatest All Time Forum Hack

This post got me thinking https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=50535 of just what forums like VB's, UBB's, and so forth basically revolutionized the way we use forums. And for everyone here besides a few lurker's we've used or are currently using one of the major forum systems. *Holds up baseball bat if it ain't a VB ;)* . Anyways for those who create or just install you've seen thousands of addons. Some have seen more then others. But in your opinion we've seen some fantastic addons that did in fact change certain forum aspects. Custom Titles, Memberlists, Private Messaging, Who's Online, all of them were hacks that as you can see now are implemented into our VB systems. So in your opinion for those who were around way back when addons to forums like these really took off, what do you feel is the all time greatest forum hack. It could be current like the store hack or it could be something like Who's Online which is my all time favorite.

probably who's online and pm, pm's just revolutionized everything :D

Who's Online and PM's too, two great features to any BB System.

For me the two best ones, which are not in vb2 but will be in vb3, are the latest thread titles on the front page, and the thread preview on mouse over.

Another one which is excellent but doesn't appear to be in vb3 is the number of new replies column.

All little things, but make a big difference to how easy the forum is to get around :)

Well if you're talking about hacks hacks, I think the Quick reply dropped a bomb on the vB hacking world. ;)

I agree - quick reply was revolutionary - it would be interesting to see who had the idea (whether it was a response by chen to a request ;))
