Portsentry grep IP's check vb users?

I had this idea of a hack in while checking my portsentry logs.

Would it be possible to grep IP's from /var/log/messages and then check the VB userbase to see if any IPs match? Portsentry auto blocks the user for x amount of time, but I would like to ban that person from the board as well if its them.
