i gave him ftp so he could upload some styles, it ends up he was storing viruses on my server :(

they were n00b subsevens, but i could of got in deep shiznat since i own the site :(

No offense but no s***, giving FTP is even worse than having multiple admins.

FTP should be given out to people you can truly trust.

I'm the only one with ftp access besides the owner of the webspace and he hasn't uploaded anything in 4 months.

And I have yet to give anyone ftp access and I am almost positive I won't.

Yea that was the worst thing you could probably do is give a mod ftp access

BTW, Spitfireisgod, you're suddenly showing up as unlicensed so to download hacks and get support you will need to go to this page and enter your email address, to show you are licensed. (you will need to use your customer number and password to access that page)

I have a few mods with FTP access, but they aren't just random moderators from the forum, they're people I've known for a long time and have great connections with, and talk with just about everyday via IRC and AIM. Never do I have to fear about them uploading something malicious.

But yeah, bad idea to give a mod FTP access if you don't know them like a sibling.

mm yeah, i am not a staff in alot of forums yet i have lots of ftps ;D

its about trust really not rank, so only give it to ppl that you trust staff or not

True - At the moment, only me and the server owner have FTP access to my site:)

I give staff their own email and subdomain, and database if they want it - They can access that without trouble, and I monitor what they upload, though all the staff I have are good friends:)

I like it when the owner only has ftp access. Only admins you really trust should be given it because it's the key to your server and it's precious as you can see what some people can do with it.
