how i can change the user id
hi
i want to know how i can change the user id becouse i have a user have id 2 and he dont join my forum from 6 month or more and i want to give it to anther one i try to change it from the database in userid but he change the name also so if someone know it i hope he will help me |
It's doable but can cause more problems than it will fix. I wouldn't recommend doing it.
note to hackers: I'm referring to dropping the auto_increment and then readding it :) |
Heh, I remember when I wanted to do this. It's a looong process and it'll most likely mess up like filburt said :p ... NOT recommended.

Isn't there a query, that will reorganize the auto_increment?
For instance, few days ago in userids, I had only 2 members on a test board, but every new user had a userid of 20022+. I am not even sure what I did, but it reorganized the autoincrement, and made it start from the latest smallest figure, but this required me to delete new entries. |
That's what I'm talking about but every other table will be completely screwed up with the new userid associations. There's no reason to fill in the gaps.

Instead of changing userid, just change username and password. Then, use the "ezboard" hack released here to associate the username to the other username's posts. It works.

i try it but its not working
i do everything but the script change the name but the posts still the same |
