Buttons by Crayola
I just got my web site up and running
www.dlhawe.net using a vBulletin 2.2.9 back end and a vBPortal portal front end. I have most of the look done on the site, and have now tackled buttons. I would have used some of the standard available buttons, but I needed a "forums" button to switch between the portal home page and the forums. The buttons I have created for the site are colored nicely (I did the top level buttons, all the others are from another button set) but they look like I did them in crayon. I did use the vBulletin Graphics Development Kit and PS6 to do the buttons. Am I being dense about this? Any suggestions for the graphically and web site building challenged (me!)? Thanks in advance! |
Show me an example of what you mean :)?

If what's on your site is what you're talking about, it looks like the gradient effect isn't working AT ALL.
I would suggest reading the documentation in the members section at vbulletin.com if you want to do the buttons by hand. I would also recommend doing a search over there for vButton, which will automate the whole process and is very, very nice. I believe this is the version for Photoshop 6, but I may be wrong: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=24727 |
Fixed: Cause of the blurry text was an entry in the header template created by vBPortal that was stretching the icons from the default width of 53 to 58. I've changed that and now the icons look much better. Now maybe I can restore some outer glow settings (which were turned off) and see how that looks
Lynda, thx for the vButton info. I'll give it a spin :) |
