[ANSWERED] New area

Why am I no longer able to post in the Services Requests forum. I was able to post there in the beginning (I have a post in there) but am no longer able to access it. I get the infamous no_permission error now.

Xenon 03-15-2003 12:34 PM

you cannot post into other threads, just post threads yourself :)

Rose 03-15-2003 01:48 PM

Very good idea! This will eliminate solicitation inside threads and make those interested in a service request to contact the thread starter directly, then?

Xenon 03-15-2003 01:50 PM

exactly that is the plan ;)

Boofo 03-15-2003 02:53 PM

Oh, I see. Ok. But why was I able to post in there the first time then ?

All I was trying to do is post the same thing Logician ended up posting and save the guy some money. Just trying to help out. You ought to know I would never charge for or sell anything here. ;)

Dean C 03-15-2003 02:59 PM

Because after some discussion with the mods we decided to change the permissions to how it is now. We know you would never charge or sell anything here Boofo but others we cannot trust. So basically its to stop people flaming threads with promotions for themselves.

I just hate to see someone post something in there willing to pay for something that someone is willing to do for free or tell them how to do for free. There are a lot of people here who will take advantage of a situation like that if given the opportunity, that's all i'm saying. But it is the new administration's site now, so I will respect that and leave it alone.

If they want to request something for free, they can post in the Hack Request or Graphics Request. :)

Dean C 03-15-2003 08:32 PM

But what boofo is trying to say is that there are people that ask for simple things that can be done so easily and then someone will come along and charge them for it when someone could do it simply for free... Well i see your point Boofo and as mods can post in that forum i personally will try and help people for free if its something simple that i know how to do :)

Never mind, Erwin. ;) You didn't get it.
