About vBulletin.org

Hello,

I'm a relative newbie, in my third month as a vBulletin user (yes, I literally rang in the New Year with the license purchase!)

In that time, I've really come to admire the innovative and supportive community here.

Recently, my Web hosting company decided to put query limitations on its MySQL to benefit all of the users in a least-common denominator fashion. While this is a minor inconvenience compared to the great service I have had with this host to date, I would like a way to measure the queries on the board, much as vBulletin.org has at the bottom of all of its pages.

I tried searching for a hack that does this, and I couldn't find one.

While I'm at it, is there a place that documents the various hacks installed at this site (like the front/portal page, or the login/welcome at the top of the board, etc.?

Thank you!

sorry but even me doesn't know all hacks which are installed here.

the one you've asked for is the microstats hack by TECK.

once we upgrade to vb3 i hope we will make a list where we add all hacks made to vb.org, at least if we use one of the released ;)

jacobi, I'm pretty sure the hack you're looking for is this:

It has been very helpful to me in measuring queries per page.

I also find it's useful to turn debug mode on (add $debug=1 to the config.php) and then add explain=1 to the end of a url - that will display all the queries running.

:)

Also Xenon has a hack in his profile which reduces queries on your main forums index :)

Mist, Lynda, Xenon (and Teck) - you have made my life so much easier and I look forward to implementing all of your suggestions. I've already installed the MicroStats hack, and I can see what functions are a drag on the queries.

Thanks again!

I can definitely recommend Xenon's forumhome optimization hack, works wonders :).
