Forumdisplay running sloooooow

The board is hacked, but even with a clean forumdisplay.php I am seeing very slow load times. index.php and showthread.php are fine as are the calendar, private messages, etc.

Forumdisplay, however, is taking 23+ seconds to load. I just tried uploading a fresh one from the zip, and it's still slow as can be.

Any thoughts on how to debug this? I would assume that if the problem were in global.php or functions.php, the problem would manifest on other pages as well.

is it JUST a few pages? or all of them? cuz it could be the server

amykhar 03-13-2003 02:24 AM

It's just forumdisplay.php The server is fine. Other pages are loading ok.

weird, i've never heard of such a thing... :boggled:

It happened to me with index.php when I first moved to this VPN a while back. However, uploading a clean one fixed the problem. This time, a clean one isn't fixing the problem. I tried reverting the template and even ran repair.php on the database just for the hell of it.

I can't find a board running a clean version of 2.3.0 to see if they have problems as well. That's one thing that sucks about the support site running an unreleased version. I don't have a baseline unhacked board to compare against. For all I know, this is an issue with 2.3.0 because I just upgraded yesterday.

2.3.0 RC3 is fine for me.

hmm have you enabled the show dots?

if yes, try to disalbe it, or use the hack which optimizes the showdot thing (by pwrsneak afaik)

Show dots is on, but it has always been on and that page was fine until the upgrade.

hmm have you tried run repair.php?

it optimizes the tables also, it increased the speed on my board once ;)

Use freddie's version of repair.php it looks nicer :p and also you'll get results on all of your tables. :)
