Private Message Title Question

Can anyone please tell me what I need to do to make it so when you preview a private message, that if you have change the subject title from what it was when you did a send reply that it will show the new message title instead of the old one in the private preview mode? I have been trying different positions and variables for almost an hour now and have not been able to change it from the original message title.
