This probably exists - show guests only thread titles
 

Did a search in finished hacks but couldn't find it.

Basically what would be cool would be the option of only showing guests thread titles in selected forums, i.e they can click on the forum from the forum home page, they then can see the normal listing of threads, but they can't click into a thread to read what's going down.

Sorry if this already exists, but was unable to locate through the search function.

Automated, nope you either have to hide the forum from guests or allow them to see the entire contents. ppn's hack offers the ability to allow guest to go into a forum, view the thread titles, but does not allow them to view posts in a thread.

We are getting plenty of guests sucking our resources and downloading various things without joining. This will become critical for our new board which has freeware for our particularly corner of IT.

If people want our freeware then they can join up to get at it. Also am already sick of people emailing saying they downloaded stuff and how does it work. Well join and view the support forum ;)

Where can I find this hack for 2.2.8?
I like to show thread titles to certain user groups.
