Vb3 Like Group System

Heyya.

Vbulletin 3 has a REALLY great group system, letting users be in more then one user group. And these groups are able to access certin forums. I would like to see this in Vb2. Right now im not impressed with Vb3. All Vb3 is a hacked up Vb2 and the only thing that turns me onto Vb3 is the group system. Im VERY sure alot of people would use this hack if it were to be made.

hmm, it would require to rewrite a lot of the vb2 permission system, so i don't think anyone would make such a hack for free, especially not when vb3 is near where it's inlcuded..

i dont think it would.

Its basicly just letting a user join 2 groups. or be put in 2 groups.

if it would be that easy, why do you think it isn't there already?

vb2 decides the permissions of the usergroup the user is in, but if he would be in two groups, you must implement the binary OR permission like it's in vb3.

also in vb3, a user is in one MAIN usergroup, but can join other usergroups also (or this has been changed since i last read about it..)

you can probaly set a priority on one group to take permissions, or if one group has permissions to do somthing set to no, and the other has it set to yes, then the yes takes control over the no.

Why not set up multiple usergourps with the same perrmissions then write some code to allow the gourp to have leaders, then you could use moderation to allow them to join other gourps

I would do this myself but, Im still not very good at php. If somone does make it i'll be happy to help though.
