Meeting planner/attendance/event hack

I'm looking for a way to track which of my members will be coming to an event. I see three main ways of doing this:

1) Utilize the poll functionality which is probably the easiest way to do this. It already allows for a post to describe the event, date, and time. It allows people to vote Attending, Not Attending, or Maybe. The only thing it lacks is the ability for others to see everyone who has confirmed attending, not attending, or maybe. Probably not a big deal to make poll items clickable to show who voted for each item.

2) Code this functionality from scratch and tie it to a Calendar event. This would take more work, but it would be nice to have it show up when the event is clicked on.

3) Use the poll functionality as in item 1, but also tie it to a calendar event.

- Does anyone know of a hack that might suit my need?
- If not, anyone up for the task?

Inputs? Anybody?

Guess its time to start coding.

What'd you end up doing? I'm looking for the same.

Thanks.

I just wrote it myself. This was obviously a long time ago, so I don't even recall what I changed unfortunately.

I looked and found that I just hacked up calendar.php, but this was for vb 2.3.0.

I have to manually link my polls to my event-forum. It's not a huge deal, but it would be nice if something did this through the admin or forum instaed. Does anyone know about a program that does this or does anyone know how to make one?

If someone doesn't know what I'm talking about and would like to see what i mean, feel free to check out my polled event-forum. Just type username:test & password: test. Just don't vote, please.

Thanks.

Hmm... not sure if this actually worked or not... all i can say is that I have my events linked to my forums with poll ability... not quite sure how lol *shrug* ... it's exactly what i wanted... I'm happy... don't know if that'll work for anyone else. ... anyway, I'm removing the test feature on my site now.
