Problems with Polls
Although all the permissions give the members and moderators the option to make a poll (i've tested also the custom permissions beside the default), they get this message:
"Invalid thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster" Admins have no problems to make a poll, only moderators and registered members. How can this be fixed? |
It is stranger...when the admin makes a poll the poll apears but it makes also a reply in the latest topic that will show up on the index but is not there at all. (???)
|
I hope someone can help me with this. I've find out that a new poll is placed in the moderation aproval although this is not even an option for that specific forum.
When approved, it appaers but not as a poll but as topic. |
I'm now having this same exact problem.
|
Make sure users are logged in before they try to vote, a technical limitation of just how HTTP protocol works, although my suggested fix got rejected by the devs despite the fact that I'm 100% sure it would work.
|
Well, I'm definately logged in. I can post a thread fine, but whenever I post a poll, it goes to the redirect screen, then to a invalid thread specified error. Then under the submissions area, there is my new thread, but it's been stripped of my attempt to make it a poll. The only thing I can think of is the Store Hack or the Statistik Hack. Those being the only hack's i've installed that (I believe) required changes to the newthread.php file.

Are you running 2.2.9 or later? There was a bug involving some ISPs that can cause this to happen.
