numbers for "post# x of xx" still won't show numbers

I have checked and rechecked the intructions, and I still cannot get the "post# x of xx" to show up in for this hack. everything is fine except the numbers do not show up.

and i will attach a copy of my postbit template and my showthread.php in the next post.

I have spent way to much time on this one, I do have the arcade installed as someone mentioned in the support thread, if that makes any difference

I also have the issue with the . not being there

$postbits .= getpostbit($post); looks like this instead
$postbits = getpostbit($post);

am running 2.2.8

any suggestions?

Here are my postbit template and my showthread.php3 file.

I hope it is ok to post them, but don't know how else to let someone look at what is going on.
