mySQL table naming and converting?

1. How does it name the tables when creating them in mySQL? My host only provides 1 database, so I wasn't sure if vBulletin uses prefixes when naming all the tables to ensure I don't have any conflicts with other tables that might be there.

2. I'm currently using PHPNuke6.0 with the phpBB2 port. I've seen that there is a converter for the phpBB2 forums, but not sure for those who the using the phpNuke port version. Is there one?

Everyday I get closer to making my decision to switch over to vBulletin. When I found out about vbportal, that was it, I'm switching. Just had to have two more questions answered before I whip out the credit card.

Hopefully a future vBulletin user,
John

1. it doesn't use prefixes, but there is a hack for this in these forums here
there is also a db-schema to download (don't know if it's just for licensed one...)

2. hmm, i know that there is a phpnuke combination with vb, but i can't help here for convertors i don't know them :)

Thanks for the for help.

I think my #2 question might have been misleading.

I'm gonna dump phpNuke and bb2 and go with vbPortal and vBulletin. I was curious on a converter to move all the bb2 stuff over to vbulletin. The reason I mentioned phpnuke is that I install bb2 as a port on it. So some of the tables differ from a standard bb2 install. They have been changed to work together with phpnuke.

Either way I'm not too concerned with it as I just started the site 2 weeks ago so the database is still real small. I might just start from scratch. Hell half the threads and posts were about the site anyways, which won't exist anymore when I make the changes. I'll simply find a way to transfer over the usernames only.

Time to head over to vbulletin.com and make a purchase. :)

:)
good to hear that :)

just in case anymore:
i've heard a rumour that vb3 will use DB prefixes as standart if wanted

#2: think when you rename the tables to fit into the standart scheme of phpbb2 it would be possible to convert with the normal converter :)
