Would this count as a hack?
Something which doesn't modify any files (but will probably add templates)? I'm going to be calling data from the forum and putting it on a non-vB page...my opinion is that it is a hack, where else can I post it lol.
if it modifies a vb OR add an additional vb-file it's a hack.
if you change a template, it's a template mod if it is nothing of both, it's a php things for the php forum i'd say :) |
Well, it's code which is pulling data from the vBulletin forum. Kind of like how vBhome is pulling a lot of data from the vbulletin board, well, my hack isn't going to be pulling much lol...
as long as it uses any files from vb you can consider it as a hack.
if it just uses the vb database i'd say it's no hack.. |
Well that poses as a problem really, posting a 'hack' in the PHP forum isn't really relevent. My 'hack' will have PHP in it, and is for vBulletin. It's not a template modification, so it must really be a hack =/. What about hacks like vBhome, users online on a non-vB page, etc.
It's a hack N9ne, if you use another file with PHP in it to pull data out of the database.
or short said: if it uses global.php it's a hack ^^
I have a require("config.php") line in there ;).
enough ;)
