Methods of reducing bandwidth?

Ever since Google has indexed a huge portion of my site and threads, I've been receiving a significant amount of more visitors and new registrants to my site. Problem is, my current plan on my host allows 14gig of bandwidth to be used monthly, and in my current state of income, I'm not able to upgrade to another plan. In the last month I became about 2 gigs to this limit, and thought it reasonable to start thinking of ways to reduce and conserve more of my bandwidth, at least until I can upgrade plans. I have no interest in switching hosts either, as I'm content with my current.

I know those search engine bots can often be bandwidth stealers themselves, and I've read of solutions to possibly limit these bots, but I've sort of .. forgot them.. ;) Though, I don't want to totally render all bots away from indexing my threads, just maybe some way to rid of maybe ones that are just being redundant or something.

I am also thinking of making my forum and thread only visible to registered members, only problem is I don't think bots would then be able to index my threads, but I can't actually confirm if this is true.... I would think though. If anybody knows?

If there are other forms or methods of reducing bandwidth, I would be very interested and grateful to know them. :p

Check out the link in my sig about reducing bandwidth - in case you haven't seen it already. :)

Ah, perfect ;)

Just what I needed, didn't see it before in your siggy, but thanks a ton for mentioning. :)

No problems. It's all very good advice. :)
