Exclude private forums from login box
 

I have the welcome panel installed.

Some of my members have asked why when they click on the "view new posts" link the search results don't match the totals shown in the "There have been # posts in # threads since your last visit!" message.
I have explained to them that posts in private forums also get counted,but do not show up on the search results because they are not accessible to non staff members.

Is it possible to exclude the posts/threads in private forums from appearing on the logged in message "There have been # posts in # threads since your last visit!" for non admins/mods.

i think there is a workaround in the supportthread isn't it?

the problem is, that it'll blow upd the query by using joins and forumhome doesn't like great queries (at least the host ;))
