custom hack needed-will pay$$
I run a weather board
My Board Im using the latest version of VBPortal with the weather sideblock what i would LOVE is for some of the variable in the weather sideblock to be able to be displayed in the users postbit so as you browse through posts-you can see the users weather for HIS location in postbit-and it is auto-updated can this be done? I am willing to pay someone to custom code this if so :) |
I wonder:
1- Do you have any internal or external script you use to query whether information according to location? In other words how do you get the whether info of location X in your site? 2- Do you have mandatory or optional user profile field that user enter their locations? 3- Do you realize that adding this info to postbit may slow down thread display to a certain extent (depending on how fast your internal/external query script returns result) as now the script has to retrieve and parse every user's whether informatin when a thread is displayed? (Of course it will be alternative to put this info to user profile page instead of postbit which will solve this problem) |
