Only show "admin functions" to moderators.
I was visiting another forum today where I'm just a registered user and saw the "admin functions" listed at the bottom of the page.
Well, of course I had to try one and I was told "you don't have permissions". In my mind it's not nice to show something to someone, then tell them they can't use it. I checked over the vbulletin.com website and they told me it was an oversight in V2 versions (that admin functions display to nearly everyone)... at least in my case they do, because I let people delete their own posts and in showthread.php that qualifies then to get the 'admin functions' at the bottom of the threads page. In any event... here's a very simple hack that only exposes the "admin functions" to moderators. see directions in attached file. :) |
This is an alright hack.. It does tease people when they see that. Lol

Please stick the directions in a attached .txt file so warez users cant view the directions :)

Yes. That is a good idea.

As microscopically feasible as this might seem, it?s still a possibility, right? RIGHT?? No.. I?m probably wrong.. always wrong.. once again.... =sighs= Oh well, la de da di da.. [high]* Velocd kicks the install button :p[/high] |
good points...but I can tell within a few posts if someone is "moderator" material and I have people contacting me everyday requesting to be moderators....no need to entice more to take up my time.
