1 domain - 2 forums
Hi. Would it be possible to create two different vb boards in two directories of the same server ?
I would create two forums with separate databases on the same server. And in both of them there should be cookie-recognized users, possibly with different usernames/userids between the dbs. Is it possible ? I'm wondering about cookie problems eventually ? Thanks a lot. P.S.: another question. If I'm not root and I'm on a shared server, could the same php page access to two different databases ? (I mean, the vbulletin one plus another one custom) ? I would use the vbulletin auth infrastructure to make users accessed to a proprietary db-publishing application. Thanks again. Bye |
Yes.
So long as you define the cookies differently, cant remember how you do it, but you can.... You wont have any problems. |
is this allowed with 1 license?

Technically I had only two copies of the same software on the same server.
One published, another for testing purposes with many hack developers using it. :) |
You can only have two installations if only you have access to the test one.

each public accessible board instance has to have it's own licence, so in your case you need two licenses...
if you restrict acces to the second board to just 5 persons for testing issues it would be allowed, but as said just as a test board and not as a regular posting board. |
