wtf? I have this nutjob on my board calling me at home. She's not threatening or anything like that, she basically came on my site accusing another member of some pretty intense stuff, however when she cant back the accusations up with anything (ip addresses, etc), she decides to do a whois and call me to try to "convince" me over the friggen phone https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ :paranoid:

Then there is the question: How did she get your phone number in the first place?

I was an ignorant fool and put my real number on my Domain name details (the info you can get from the WHOIS lookup) :paranoid:

I'd get your phone provider to ban her phone number if i were you

Or change your number as a last resort. :s I filled out the form in complete, too, with phone details that are now listed in the WhoIs. It rather sucks that the details can't be easily changed, as far as I know. I geuss maybe contacting a registrar (which doesn't do much now that she already knows your number, granted, but it might prevent others from doing the same thing). Also, future registrations can be done "privately" so none of your contact information can be looked up. It's usually an extra fee, I believe about $9/private registration at godaddy.com, but worth it to prevent situations like this.

People who call other people from online are rather ... creepy. In my opinion, of course.

Hey Julie by telling us how that lady got your phone number it means you could get crazy people from here phoning you :p

This is the good thing about .uk domains, you need to submit your details but can easily opt out of having them shown on a whois output for no extra cost. I'd complain if you have to pay, its a breach of your privacy.
