Major problem with posts - help! URGENT!
I'm having a major problem today with new posts appearing before the first post in a thread. This is especially problematic in my news forums, such as here:
http://x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums/s...threadid=15209 This has only happened today after a server reboot. Can anyone please answer why this is happening and how I can fix those affected threads and stop it happening to others?! |
Okay, very bizarre... somehow the dateline of the new post was swapped with the dateline of the first post in the thread, resulting in the new post appearing above the original first post. I had to manually edit the respective entries in the post table in my site's database to switch the datelines.
Does anyone have any ideas how that could have happened and how to stop it happening again? |
did you by any chance happen to make a time adjustment on your server? Same thing happened to me.
|
I didn't, but it appears that the time was reset when the server was rebooted this morning. I managed to SSH in and reset the time, but that still didn't solve the problem of newer posts appearing before older ones.

Definitely sounds like a server time problem, I remember something similar when changing server for my boards a while back.
