Return to Page after login

This one is sickeningly easy. All I wanted was to have the login routine return me to the same page I had been browsing upon login. This is perfect for those of us running vbHome lite that need the ability to return to our portal page instead of the forums main page.

Thanks to Firefly for the original code (logout) and Teck for helping me find my holy grail on this one.

This hack should take about 30 seconds to install and only requires one code edit.

Found a small problem with the hack here. When the wife logs on from home here, it gives the "Thanks for logging in" message and returns to the page and it shows she is logged in but we get the login box again like she isn't logged in. Yet it says she is on the board. From this end it shows that she is on the board but not from here, it's like she logged in on another computer. It seems to strip the sessionhash out for her name or something, I'm not sure. (Does this make any sense at all? ;)) She has an apostrophe in here member name if that means anything.

Chris, I used the exact code in the hack. It is only happening to her. No one else. I took the hack out until we can figure out what the problem is.

I'm using VB 2.3.0 and I have a working login form on my front page - I have changed the member.php accordingly as above and when I login it just takes me to the forum front page as apposed to the website index.php frontpage.

Any ideas?

any one else have this installed on vB2.3.0 with or without problems?

SpeedStreet 05-04-2003 04:41 PM

Is anyone still having problems?

Apparently, my subscription got bungled, and I didn't receive updates on this thread.

If anyone is having problems, let me know and I will try to work through them with you.

I removed it until I can get the problem fixed from the message below. ;)
