Sex forums and age of members? (Opinions)
 

How serious should I take 14-17 yr olds (male and female members) participating in our Sex forum ? We dont get raunchy (no porn pics or anything like that unless its a nude cartoon funny from ilovebacon, etc) but I was just curious how you all handle it?

Introduced a sex forum on a trial basis and it appears to be operating okay. The forum moderator does check the forum regularly however to ensure subjects best left unasked are not included, there's some sick sad people out there.

Generally your members will be able to keep the 14-17 yo crowd in line and are pretty quick on the report button. So far so good, most people seem to be handling it in an adult fashion and there's some good debates going on.

They all like a little innuendo, though. :D

I am 20.. and I have had more sex than I needed... but lets say I was 16 and had the same amount? Then I guess I would know the exact same amount as a 20 year old would..

If they know and have experienced it before then I guess they can be taken seriously.. but if not then they are just playing off TV and watching their mommy and the pool guy.

it depends on the maturity of your members, we've had the S&R forum on ebs since the beginning back on ezboard and it started ok but we did has a stage where kids signed up hoping for porn and in their discontent abused it, it's been quite successful but that's down to the nature of the conversation there and altho some of it can be highly sexual, i've found that users from the ages of 14 up tend to post their dilemmas and ask for help, if you don't alienate em and make em feel welcome then it's a good feature for all users

You see we dont censor anything on our site, so far its been alright :paranoid: We've just had a streak of new members lately in the age range of 14-17 and this came to mind, just gotta cover my butt lol :D

well, i won't take em tooo serious, but also not treaten em as small kids.

They could have had more sex than a 25 old have had, but also the older are more raisonable, and more serious.
Younger one often can't learn as good from experiences as older ones do, if it's a sexual experience or not isn't the point here..

All I can think of when I hear a sex forum for 14-17 year olds, is that it probably needs to be moderated very carefully.

Yeah I think I was thinking more along the lines of a legal standpoint, you know, how not to get my butt in trouble lol. So far its ok, its just kinda wierd seeing 14 yr olds in there talking about their *experiences* :paranoid:

Yes its quite large isnt it? :paranoid: I'm still figuring out how to shorten it up and avoid confusing people. Last time I did that, it was awesome and loaded fast, except all of the "Message Board Dummies" couldnt find the forums, go figure ....So I had to put it back :confused:
