Guest Stats

I was thinking, wouldn't it be a big help to know how many guests have visited your forum? Well, i was thinking of something a little more elaborate. Viewable maybe only in AdminCP or something. The number of guests that have ever visited, the number of guests per month and per day, and the time of day visited. Maybe have it calculate the sign-up ratio. If not too elaborate, have it combine multiple visits of the same IP to count as one Guest. Also, have it create a graph of some sort, for the times visited.

I figured this would help to analyze when your board is viewed most, and how appealing your board is. I wish I knew enough to make this myself, but I still consider myself VBB Dumb. :D Anyways, anyone think this is possible? If so, does anyone want to undertake this? lol Thanks!

if you have a big guest ratio per day then the database will fill up fast if you want to keep the whole IP thing.

indeed, so if you want to save the infos like ip also you have to think of a resourcesaving way, maybe with compression or something like...

Shpook and i where talking about this a few days ago, and seeing that it would fill your database to it's peek, maybe the best way to see the stats would be to download an attached doc or php or what ever file to view the stats. or just not log the ip address.

i dunno just a thought

Hmm, i don't know quite how it would work, but I can see how it would eat up resources. I'll see what I can learn about how to do this....
