Import question

Is it possible to only import my user names and info (without post)
from my other forum into my new one so that when they come to my new one the won't have to register again? and if so can someone give me some details as to how this is done?

If there's an import script for the forum you want to import, yes you can... The first thing that an importer does is the user table... So after the usertable is completed, you can stop the import process and update counters... It should work.

I need to import VB to VB and I did a search but only find "vblite" will that work?

Take a look to my profile. There's a tool to import from vb to vb.

easy way, just make a dump of your user and userfieldtable and upload it onto the new forum :)

Sounds easy but then how would I upload to my other forum? I am looking at three sections and I can figure out the "Database tables to include in backup" part but where would I "save data to file on server" or what do I do with the 'CVS Dump of data'?

you should use phpmyadmin for that.

there you can make a dump of your user and userfieldtable and on the other server you can import em again also with phpmyadmin

I tried the script and it failed to connect. I'm finding that more and more hosts are trying to hold their vbulletin customers hostage by disallowing ssl and telnet access.

Has anyone written anything for basic vbulletin to vbulletin sql dump imports? I mean, there's an importer for just about all the other bulletin boards BUT vbulletin!
