Getting Dynamic News into vB
 

Hi All,

I dont know if you have heard of a very cool piece of software from www.jmagar.com called MyHeadlines...but its basically (from my limited understanding) an RSS news delivery system that lets you use custom scrapers to mirror news feeds from pretty much ANY site you want!!!..

Have a look here: http://www.vfxtalk.com/news/html/ these are some very quick scrapers that i have wrote for some CG related website...as you can see, there is various news feeds as they appear on their home site...

Now, my Question is: How would one go about getting news (with pictures if they are available) automatically posted into a 'news' forum on my site??

Also, what other ways are there to incorporate some form of dynamic news feed into vB??

OR, what other ways are there to just GET free news in the first place...i really like the portal hack...but i would really only use the 'news' aspect of it...

Umm, I have tried the hack by JJR512, its farely complicated, as I tried and was unsuccesful, but this was few decades ago :p when I didn't know what a mouse was, I will probably attempt this again soon. It seems like a nice hack, and would be useful for general communities.

this hack seems pretty cool...but its not exactly what i was after. To use this hack, you are relying on the news that you want being offered as news feeds...with the software i mentioned above...you can build your own .php scrapers to 'scrape' news feeds from any site at all!!!!

My main question is, once i have the news that im after, is there a way to get it automatically posted into a forum??
