PHP 4.3.0 released
After a period of Betatesting and ReleaseCandidates the newest Version of the script language has been released.
The devs call it the largest 4.x release of PHP. See the full list of changes here Lets hope, we don't have any problems with the new version, you all remember 4.2.x ? :) Hosts, that means you have to update again ;) |
I've got one of the dev versions installed on localhost, the only problem I've had is using it with Apache2, I get error messages ocassionaly due to somthing not being thread safe, so John told me on vB.com :)
I'm using phpdev locally so i can't really upgrade :p
I upgraded a few days ago, 4.3.0-rc1 seemed to be causing random Apache crashes but I haven't had that problem with 4.3.0 final :)
So everyone can confirm vB works with 4.3.0 right?
It works great for me. The zend optimizer is also available for 4.3.0 if you are interested to run it faster...
PPN was mentioning something to me about that what is it?
I'm glad Zend Opt is available for 4.3.0 as I'm always interested in running it faster ;).
I will test it out on my mac server :)
I have been getting really interested in mac serving, they are powerful machines, and I have been doing alot of testing with high end file transfers between 2 companies on regular basis, no sign of it dieing anytime soon. Files beign transfered are from 75 megs to 250 megs, and the mac is serving as the host for this, and it has been up and running for about 2 months now without needing any severe restarts due to lack of resources or some error. Thanks for the news! |
:)
good to hear it works, now my host has to upgrade soon :) mac? hmm wasnt it jakeman who has in his sig lmao mac boy? ^^ |
