Question about hacks

Quick question. If a hack is installed on a board that is used by all members of a board, and you get someone saying it's not working for them would the problem most likely be an issue with the person's computer etc.. or is it possible it could be a problem with the board/hack itself even though it works for everyone else?

More than likely, it will be a problem with that single person.

What hack is it that is troubling a certain user?

The hack you speak of proberbly has some JavaScript dotted about it, and that user is proberbly using a pants browser..... some people do, because they don't think realistically.

Internet Explorer is the top browser.... but try telling that to some people who just go "blinkered" and say, "M$ are rubbish... security blah blah... whine whine whine... etc. etc.".

thanks for the reply DSS. the hack I am referring to is the "Since your last visit" hack that shows the exact amount of threads/posts since their last visit. I have been trying to find a way to incorporate this hack at the member level so it reflects correctly the amount of new threads/posts based on a person's permission level.

In the case of this thread though we have someone who is having an issue with this, but permissions wouldnt be the problem in this one instance. Since the hack works across the board im betting its a problem with his computer.

Would you still agree? And if so do you have any suggestions on what I could have him do to remedy this?

Thanks again :)

MOST likely it's a problem with the user and his/her computer. But it CAN Be a problem on your side.
