Since your last visit question
I am running the Since your last visit hack that I believe Mr. Lister created. The purpose of that hack is to allow people coming to the forums to see how many threads, and posts were made since their last visit.
Unfortunately this particular hack isn't very helpful if someone can't view all the forums, because what ends up happening is they see that new posts and threads are there but get a message saying no new messages exist. Is there a way to make this hack work on the member level so it can reflect the true viewable number of threads/posts? Thanks for any help. |
i don't exactly know the hack, have you asked this in support thread?
you have to combine the ammount with the permissions of a user, shouldn't be too hard i think |
No i havent asked it yet. Ill reference it now. Thanks :)

It can be done, but why do you want to add 2 extra queries to the forums frontpage with this hack?
Anyway, there is a way to do this for the perms, without adding any extra queries for it, only the ones that do the count. Check my hack "Latest XX Threads on forumhome" for the set of perms change. |
you lost me Teck. Im assumming by perms you mean members?
