Which CHAT INTEGRATION works and is 100% free?
 

I see so many different chat integration hacks, jirc, eirc, etc.

I don't want to pay, I know you can make it work without paying but I don't see how, applet or template or whatever, something dope and free is what I'm looking for. ( easy would be nice too :) )

Can someone please tell me or show me, or help me get the chat integration that is free and works? I'm so confused after searching around here and trying a few different things.

ALSO *** I am willing to paypal someone a small donation if they would install this and integrate it into my forums. You would have to be a trusted member here on vbulletin for me to be comfortable to let you though. ***

The eIRC hack is 100% free. The only limitation is that you have to use the WorldIRC server for it, which is free anyway. I used that hack for quite a while and never had any problems with it.

Can't it be configured to use another server?

It can, but you need to re-complile the jar file.

damn, i'm looking forward for that one!!! there ain't no f'ing way I'm paying 50$ for some stupid chat program.

I wanted to change for the World IRC servers so I couldn't use the copy of eIRC thats here and have manually hacked ConferenceRoom in my vB using the euIRC network.

We're using WebChat and have it integrating nicely with both vBulletin and vbPortal. I'm no technical expert by any stretch of the imagination, but thought I'd mention this for anyone else who knows such things and can help you with the details.

I had some technical assistance from someone who got it working in 2-3 days, then he wrote a mod that would show who's in each chat room on our main portal page (home page) with clickable links to go there directly.

Have the site offline at the moment, but can post a link for folks to have a look..... in maybe another week or two.

Ok,

Well I installed the EIRC integration chat last night, I used strynder's version ( sp on his user ) which was just a simple php file and a template. It loads up but doesn't connect anywhere, you can type but nothing shows up. It eventually just freezes up every time? WTF :(

Any ideas, solutions, help? :(
