This may be out already - but not sure?

Hey all

i am not totally sure with the points hacks and thei level of detial.

What i am looking for it for my work.

we have a News section and various other areas where peoplecan submit thigns.

WHat i want in their post bit is an area that tracks how many news articles they have post and such for other items so example.

Joe Blow
newbie.
.
.
.
.
News Post:1
Articles:3

Etc etc - so when ever someone post under teh news Forum, their count will go up one, and if they post under the Articles Forum, that count will go up 1, or a set number.

So basically pending on what forum u post in - u get points added to your account.

??????//

do the points hacks do this, that specifically on a -per forums- basis? if so, whcih points hack does that?

If not, can anyone do something like this?

very appreciated, thank you.

Logi, is it possible to instead of getting X threads from a forum (say a news forum) by the topic starter, do it by total threads in that forum (news in my case) have it display like 15 threads on a page then do: 1,2,3 if there are too many to list on one page.

something like:

Topic: | Forum name: | Data/time:

but including a template instead of just a plain old page. How hard would this be, I see you did most of it alread, I am still learning vb code so I have not a clue, :eek:

I'm not sure if I understand the question?

sorry, that little hack you made (link you posted above) gets threads from X forum that a user started, but instead of showing the threads the user started have it pull ALL threads in that X forum.

I'll explain a little better, one of my forums serves as news, I want to make a page like an 'archive' news page that lists all threads on a page from X forum. hope you understand.

k, will this simply show JUST a number in the person posts bit? or a link to show u all the post a user has made?

Also

Code:

(Replace X with your forumid)

I want this to apply to ALL catergories in my forum - how do i do that - so it shows ALL post the person has made on the forum.

and if not (i am half asleep) where do i get my forumID?...lol

Mathiau 11-20-2002 10:07 AM

I need it to track the amount of post in 3 or 4 diff forums.

so example, here is my forum:

==============================
Da Forum
==============================
General

Tech Support

Advice

Contact

Advance Help

VIP help
=============================

(okay it is a ghetto asci forum,..lol.)

Now.

in someones postbit i want it to look like: (well better of course ;)

=====================================
Mathiau | Hey all testing forum |
Admin! | |
| |
| |
| |
| |
Support: 5 | |
Advice: 12 | |
Contacted:3 | |
=====================================

So it tells me how many times a person has made a new thread in that particualr section - and they will only get points for making a new thread in that particular section . - automatically given to the person upon posting. - and which forums u get points for posting in is controlled via the control panel.

Now also, i would like it so u lose X amount of points if u post in a forum like VIP Help or Advance help. This is like a points sytem, but it would be kew to be able to click on the numeber beside each, and it then takes u to the posts.

????

this possible :)
