Login page system that runs off a vbulletin db?

First off, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place. As it covers both php and vbulletin. I'm new here...so be warned! :P

Does anyone know of how I could make a login page that runs off the users database/table off the vbulletin database I have running a vb? As I know it encrypts the password and stuff. As I would like it use it to protect a download page that only members of the forum can access with their user names and passwords.

well, if you include the global.php from your vb, then you could user the bbuserinfo variable:

after that code you'r download page.
whenever a user isn't loggedin, he'll get an errormsg
