Ignore Forum in View New Posts?

One of my members requested me to add the possibility to ignore any forum from the view new threads link. I run a gaming board, so not everyone is willing to see hundreds of new threads in one specific area for a game that they don't even own, and I had no idea how to take care of this, so I thought I could as well ask. Maybe someone has released something like this already? In that case, that would be great.

I think he meant like a link in the forum, like "Subscribe to this forum", except saying "Ignore this forum"...

It then removes it from just that user's search...

That would be very cool;)

ok I see..

I think it's a little bit unnecessary to hack vb for major things like these while vb3 is just a few days ahead. Before you finish the hack vb 3 can hit the market with the exact feature you are trying to integrate..My 2 cents..

Actually...You are totally right;)

We'll just wait and see then, I guess.

Are we sure this is in 3.0? I looked all through the options in the control panel and couldn't find it. And I tried searching the forums over there.

I'm in desperate need of this feature/hack because our off-topic forum is taking on a life of it's own and it's a love-it/hate-it thing for our members.

Even if I could just cut that forum out of the new topics query, I'd be in good shape. Come to think of it, it would be nice to cut not visible forums out of the get new query.

That would be a great hack. It has also been requested on another forum I use.

Hope someone takes the time to do this :)
