Search & Browse Restrictions
 

Hello all,

How would one restrict the search & browse capability of one usergroup to a) see only posts that were posted more than 30 days ago AND b) that are in one particular subforum? i.e. thay are allowed to view the whole board for all threads except the one subforum (and within that, what they get is old news!). I want them to see the subject matter of the restricted threads but not the content.

Secondly, if I was creating a hierarchy as follows:
Top1/mid1/bot1
Top1/mid1/bot2
Top1/mid1/bot3
Top1/mid2/bot1
Top1/mid2/bot2
Top1/mid2/bot3
Top1/mid3/bot1
Top1/mid3/bot2
Top1/mid3/bot3

In the above, if bot3 was the subforum that I want to restrict (in each case, it would have the same title), how would I apply the restriction to all bot3's?

This was a pre-sales question. I need to be able to do this if I buy the product.

These features are not built-in. You'd need to write a hack to do them.

I honestly don't know. I'll let someone who actually writes hacks answer this.

Not hard to do at all. All it takes is time to sit down and work it out. :)

i'm currently searching "search restriction" am in interested in exactly this... has a hack been written for this as of yet for vB 3.0.9?
