Does VB has any kind of mailing list built-in?

Is it possible to send mail to selected group of people that I have selected or that subscribed to a certain thread only?

Yes, you can send e-mails to specific people, usergroups, or other criteria, except for people who are subscribed to a thread; that would require a hack.

Ever since I can remember!

Admin CP -> Users -> Email Users -> 'and usergroup is'

Thanks to all that replied. Last question. How easy is to manage those lists? Do you think that I would still have to subscribe to some type of mailing list manager like topica or others to manage subscriptions etc?

There is no management; you just select criteria for who should receive the message when you compose it.
