How do I 'call' a template that I created?

I created a template, how do I call it?

there are mor possibilities ;)

is it a final outputtemplate or just a bit-template?

remember that adds a query to every page in my experience

so if there is a $templatesused variable anywhere add the name of the templatename into that as well :D
