Stolen Layout

Ok. Basicly I co-own

this site: http://www.hellfusion.com

And the person that stole the layout is over here:

http://evo.phpwebhosting.com/~ka0s/

------------------

Ok. They don't want to take the layout down even though I have contacted them and their host. Their host has not done anything and I emailed them sunday night. I emailed them again and am awaiting a response.

What do you think I can do about this? I have threatened a lawsuit but I don't know where this character lives.

Threaten their host. If you have a lawyer, get your lawyer to contact their host. Call the host up and speak to somebody. The host is liable as well if they are hosting a site that is breaching copyright laws. Are they copying your images or just the layout?

They stole your layout, yea. There's nothing you can do.

If it's only layout, then there's not much you can do. They have to copy images which are subject to copyright, not a layout which cannot be copyright.

They stole images too...

NTLDR 10-17-2002 09:12 AM

Looks like the site has gone now :D

Erwin 10-17-2002 10:52 AM

Looks like the host may have gotten their act together. :)

Thank goodness they took it down. I REALLY didn't want to have to get a lawyer and sue sue sue. They copied the WHOLE site images, layout, content, and if my site wasn't coded in php he would have stolen the scripts also.

How do you steal PHP scripts from a website? Unless that person hacked into your site, then downloaded the PHP scripts..there isn't a way. Also, there is no copyright against stealing a layout! So you couldn't hold a case on him from account of that. As for images though, he did copy those so there was reason for him to take his site down.

your site looks awesome Dark Shogun...

Suggestion: switch to vb ;)
