I need someone to setup a dedicated server
 

I need to move over to a dedicated server but I have no experience with them. Is there anyone out there that is well versed with them and would be willing to do some contract work in setting one up for me, and helping when it is needed?
I am considering using RackShack.net. Any comments on them?

I think you emailed me about rack9. They do provide a managed server for a very good price. Email mmeier@racknine.com and tell him that Erwin sent you, and he will look after you well. I host with them, and they have been great. They will set up everything, and optimize the server for you, so all you need to worry about is run the site.

I don't see how people can afford such extreme prices for dedicated servers!? "Very good price"??? $99 bucks a month is a little over doing it, at least for me :(

$99 per month for a managed dedicated server is considered cheap. :) And I pay a lot more than that for my setup.

They have very cheap price,and good quality servers.

They just had a sale, 1$ setup fees on all intel and AMD servers, I think there all sold out. They are getting new stock of servers soon.

DrkFusion, I was just looking at Rackshack but now don't want anything to do with them after reading many-a-bad-thread about them on vbulletin.com, and then their own discussion community.

Velocd, As for dedicated server prices, from all I can gather, $99 a month is a terrific deal, especially with the bandwidth allowance of 400 gigs.. (just hope they meter it correctly) Most sites that handle enough traffic to justify a dedicated have some sort of income related to the site, or backing to cover it for whatever purpose. It's all relative. :) I look forward to when I MUST get a dedicated.. I'd say it's indicative of a successful community. :)

Lesane-crooks.com (my currently host) is not hosted by viperhost, my new host wich will be online next week is hosted by viperhost.com. The support is excellent and i hear from alot of people that viperhost is a great fast host wich has a great uptime and more. You should visit the forum and view some reactions about the hosting and visit some websites from their customers and you will see it yourself.
