Backup/restore system for forum content?
 
I'm not sure if this would be a hack or just an option that could be integrated somehow onto admin CP.

The idea would be that, given x forums/subforums, get some system to backup (and have the chance to restore) its contents, anytime, without the need to go for a full database backup via telnet.

Ideas?

This comes because the fact of having an ARTICLES forum with different subforums (categories) with ARTICLES in each of it, where the articles are published once and then ARCHIVED.

So the idea is that I need to backup the ARTICLES forum and its related subforums+threads separately from the big monthly backup.

hmm, you can install my archiv hack (look in my profile) and move all your old articles into the archive and then just make a backup of the archiv tables.
