Need a Hack for users to sign Rules

I need a hack for a signed rules page. When the members view the rules page they will have to sign the bottom of the rules in order to confirm they have read the rules. Have a button at the end of the rules for the member to click for verification. I would like to have this written to the database so I can see they have signed and read the rules. I think it is pretty easy. Still way knew at php for me to handle it. I hope someone can help out?

Thanks,
Itworx4me

Why not either have the rules on the signup page, which they have to agree to in order to register, or create a poll which they have to vote on if they agree? That the simplist two options which require not hacking.

Not everyone on the site will be using the rules. Or I would go that route.

I am thinking along the roads of adding a new field to users, and then just put options of yes I agree or no I don't agree, and then when you want to pull that information just use it in the php and use if statements to set what they can and can't do.

It seems to me like a painfull thing, you can always do this, setup 2 new usergroups, who ever clicks yes goes into the one with permissions, and the other go into another usegroup with other permission

Then have it stored on the database as a yes in the new users field created.

This is what I am looking for. How would you write that up?
