[Micro-Hack] Enhanced New User Email

This hack adds some more details to the email you get after a user has registered. Tested on 2.2.6, but should work on all 2.2.x versions.

It adds:
  • The users IP Address;
  • The URL of where they signed up from (e.g, the home page, a thread);
  • The user on the board who they ented as the referrer;
  • There browser & OS details;
  • There sig.

Nice :)

I made this myself a while back, but never thought about releasing it. I like the option: Registred From .. so I will be adding that soon

NTLDR, is there a fix for the birthdates that are before 1970? Anyone who has a birthday before 1970 always shows up as December 31, 1969 in the emails I get. :)

NTLDR 09-02-2002 12:48 PM

I think this is a bug with vB, as it defaults to 1970 for some stuff.

Boofo 09-02-2002 03:24 PM

I got the birthday in the member.php to work with dares before 1970, where is the code I need to fix it for the birthdates in the email?

NTLDR 09-02-2002 03:34 PM

It should be in register.php somewhere above where you add the code for this hack.

joeychgo 04-04-2004 07:10 PM

Anyone know if this works with 3.0?

NTLDR 04-04-2004 07:27 PM

No it doesn't. A vB3 version will be released in a day or so.
