help again. My board is going crazy. "noshutdown function error"

Ok, ive been having problems with my thread views not updating. I havent hacked showthread.php except for only the quickreply box, and this was a while ago. One day it started not counting thread views. So i looked up on the help forum and saw to open functions.php and change the no shut down function varible to 1. I did that. It works. But now every once inawhile an error pops up that says noshutdown function error or unindex error.. it pops up whenever it wants to. I tried uploading a brand new functions.php and a showthread.php and its still displaying it.

Can anyone help? Is my DB screwed? How can i repair it?

my opinion, get vb 2.2.7 and do a clean install

or just re-upload all the files, since i see u got a lot of members and post..

I tried that. I reuploaded all the 2.2.6 files and its still not working.

in /admin/functions.php

make sure that you have changed

$noshutdownfunc = 0;

to

$noshutdownfunc = 1;

and does it tell you what file the error is occuring in?

Hey, thx for the reply.

The board only functions when i have that number changed to 1.

If its at 0 then it doesnt count thread views. And when its at 1 i have more trouble adding hacks. Cause i get a unindex error. I have uploaded new showthread files.. functions.php files and everything but its still not counting threadviews when that integer is at 0.

What happens is when people reply it says unindex error after they reply. I havent been able to see it yet but when i change the shutdownfunction to 0. It works but doesnt count thread views... Its one or the either and i dont know whats happening.

The shutdownfunction is set in php, you could always ask your host to enable this function for you.

ok, so if thats not a big deal anymore, whats the unindex error. Says cannot unindex. I am trying to install the DOUBLE POST hack where it wont allow a user to double post.
