Subforums...?

Hello.

I'd like to ask if there is any hack that would create subforums... or do we have to wait for the V3 of the VB to have them? :)

thanx in advance

NTLDR 08-20-2002 02:48 PM

This is a standard feature of vB 2.x, no hacks are required for it.

Really?!!!
thats great!

I haven't seen any VB with subforums (like the ones here :

http://beta.vbulletin.com/vb3/forumd....php?forumid=2 )

does anyone have a link of a 2.x forum that has subforums, and what is the max depth of forums I can create?

and something else I'd like to ask...
could someone direct me to the hack that I can use to make private forums?

thanx
p.s. u made my day :)

Private forums are also a built in feature of vB.

Have a look at my forums, the archive on on my site has subforums in and the full releases forum here also have a sub-forum, beta hacks.

As for maxiumum depth, I *don't think* there is a limit, I've gone at least 3 or 4 deep before.

Can someone please suggest a basic approach/philosophy on deciding the number of forums to create? (other then obviously, "keeping it simple...")

I would like to use subforums, but I'm worried that I already have to many forums. I'm not sure subforums will help with organizing my BB. Should subforums help a user know where to post a topic, or just confuse things more?

I've been perplexed with this question for some time. I'd like some help organizing my site. I'm currently using UBB6, but, as soon as I can afford it, I want to switch to vB. Kind of hoping vB3 will be available when I make the switch, but it seems there isn't a release date yet.

Regards,
Rand
