forcing reading of announcements
 
I don't think there is a hack or template modification for this

What I would like is to force people to read the new announcement in a particular forum before they can view the threads. In the hack have an ability to toggle on/off whether you want to make this a forced announcement or not.

easy?? hard?? any takers?

not same thing but I use forum home announcement hack to make them appear in forum home so nobody can miss it.
