Keywords = $
 

I've been using replacements to enable keyword linking; ie: a site advertiser makes a widget. Whenever "widget" is used in a post, the replacement inserts the word "widget" with a link to the advertiser's site.

Works pretty well, but there are problems, quote function will display the html of the replacement (haven't tried it with vB Code, I don't allow html in threads), difficult to set-up the replacements when you have multiple styles, etc.

Question is (I've searched) has anyone made, or considered writting a hack to implement something like this? Maintain a list of keywords, admin form entry of keywords/links, etc? I track clicks on advertiser logos, since adding my make-shift method of keywords, the click-thru's have gone thru the roof... they (advertisers) love it. Seems like this would be a very useful hack.

Thoughts?
