I want to write a fairly simple news posting script somewhat similar to newspro or something. What I need help with is this. I am just now learning PHP so can someone tell me what the basic stuff I will need to learn to do this is? Will I need to use MySQL? Any help is appreciated.

MySQL is neccessary unless you want to do flatfile is just horrible. php.net documentations are great for help. www.devshed.com is a ok site to get some tutorials.

Thanks, I finally decided just to use MySQL. I didnt really like the tutorials on that site...could you give me a brief overview of what I should focus on learning and such?
